That’s right! I (the admin for this site) actually work for a web hosting company, and as such have access to some pretty awesome stuff. Namely, I have a completely kickass dedicated server with a quad core processor, 4GB ram, and a gigabit uplink. I’m free to do with it as a please, so that sucker’s gonna be serving up some sweet, sweet deathmatch goodness. I guess the question now is which game? Here’s the criteria:
- Must be a FPS (because it’s what I know, what I enjoy, and what this site is mostly devoted to)
- The server must run under linux (because that’s what I’m running, and that’s that!)
- Must be awesome (obviously)
So hit me up with your suggestions in the comments below! I’m leaning toward Counter Strike: Source with the GunGame mod (or possibly vanilla Day Of Defeat: Source), because that’s one of my personal favorites, but I want to hear what everyone else has to say!
